The Barn was created with full intentions of assuring that each of our members has an opportunity to achieve their fitness goals. We provide customized workout plans to all our members. This sets all of our members on the right track and provides our members with a clear goal and educates them on how they can achieve their goals. We also offer 30+ metabolic conditioning classes a week. These classes are a huge hit at our facility. They are high energy and they make working out fun. Come try us out anytime. Emmett Blois- From Gore, Nova Scotia. Emmett is the owner of The Barn. A driven and knowledgable advocate for fitness in the community, Emmett knows how to get the best out of each member and push people to achieve their fitness goals.
Bryan Gillis- From Lantz, Nova Scotia. Bryan is the manager of The Barn. His strong athletic background has exposed him to some of the top athletic training programs across Canada. Bryan is creative with his classes, loves working with our members and has a developed a strong knowledge of the fitness industry.
Kyle Ritchie- From Lantz, Nova Scotia. Kyle has been a full-time employee with The Barn since last spring. After graduating from Acadia with a Kinesiology degree, Kyle chose to join the team at The Barn and is known for his excellent customer service, knowledge of fitness and health industry and passion for helping out members pursue their fitness goals.
Sara-Anne Smith- From Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. Sara-Anne has a passion for fitness. Her work ethic is tough to emulate and is contagious for members to match. Sara-Anne has been with The Barn team since day one of operation and works part time.
Jade Smith- From Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Jade is our newest staff member and has a strong knowledge in the fitness industry. Jade’s approachable personality allows our members to feel comfortable while working out and she constantly assists our members with their fitness goals.
The Barn was awarded with the “Best New Business” and “Outstanding Customer Service” awards at the Business Excellence awards in East Hants.

The Barn is proud to partner up with two local charities and organizations. Beginning November 10th, The Barn will be donating $1.00 to both Hants North Breakfast Club and the Corridor Community Option for Adults from each smoothie sale until December 21st.
The Kennetcook Elementary School has a breakfast program open to all students to provide children with proper nutrition to kick start their day. This program runs 25 minutes prior to the first class and is operated by volunteers. There is approximately a 90% attendance rate with all elementary students in this program.
Corridor Community Options for Adults (CCOA) is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting adults living with intellectual disabilities in the communities of East Hants. They provide supported employment opportunities, training, education, job coaching services, Snoezelen multisensory services, and specialized day program
